Kaizer Chiefs Reserves opened their account in the Multichoice Diski Challenge with a resounding 4-1 thumping of Golden Arrows Reserves.

“It is a continuation of work with our youth,” said coach Arthur Zwane after the match. “We played well and I’m proud of the team. It shows we have prepared well. I am mostly pleased about scoring the goals and giving a good performance.”

It was Arrows who broke the deadlock in the 38th minute but Chiefs responded in a big way with the ‘Man of the Match’ Rahim Sibusiso Milazi leveling matters in the 41st minute. Kamohelo Hoala made 1-2 to Amakhosi on the stroke of halftime. Milazi got his brace when he scored again in the 52nd minute and Yaseen Bunting sealed a brilliant outing by converting a penalty in the 65th minute.

“I am glad to see the players committed to our style of play,” said Zwane. “Our aim is to keep working on these boys to develop and believe in their abilities. It is always good to start the campaign with a win.”

The match was played in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the King Zwelithini Stadium, in Umlazi.
