Glody Lilepo has made a big impression with the Amakhosi faithful since arriving at the Club during the January transfer window, scoring some spectacular goals, including the equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Sekhukhune United this past weekend.

www.kaizerchiefs.com caught up with the DR Congo international ahead of Chiefs’ final Betway Premiership fixture of the 2024/25 season - against Polokwane City at FNB stadium on Saturday - to discuss how he has settled into life as a Glamour Boy:

How have you adapted to South African football?

I think I have adapted pretty well, although there’s much room for improvement. I have followed SA football for many years and played multiple times against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League when I was playing for Al-Hilal in Sudan, so I knew where I was going when signing for Chiefs.

How is life at Kaizer Chiefs?

It’s great! From the facilities to Club operations, we have a lot of people working and taking care of us so we can focus on our mission. The management and staff do a lot to help us, the team, so we are aware that we must fight for them on the field.

On scoring some memorable goals:

I am happy to score when it helps the team. That is the most important thing, and I believe I can still give more.

On winning the Nedbank Cup:

We are all very happy because we know how important it is for the Club. Our goal was to end this long period without trophies and bring back some joy to the fans.

On facing Polokwane City in the final game of the season:

Personally, I am training well, as is the rest of the squad. We understand how important this game is for our chances of finishing in the top eight and give us a more positive outlook to prepare for next season.

Message to the fans:

Khosi Nation, once again we need you on Saturday for the last game of the season. Please bring your fantastic energy to help us finish the season strongly. Thank you in advance. Love & Peace.
