Two of the Kaizer Chiefs youth development academy teams won their respective titles in the 2026 SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL) Top 8 knockout tournament at Balfour Park over the weekend.

On Saturday, Amakhosi lifted the U14 trophy after soundly beating Highlands Park 3-0.

On Sunday, the Chiefs U19s came away with a 1-0 win over RESA to secure the title in their age-group.

Sadly, the U17s fell at the final hurdle earlier in the day, going down to Siwelele by the only goal.

In the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC), Amakhosi reserves played to a 0-0 draw against Sekhukhune United and are fifth in the league table with 29 points from 20 matches. They face Durban City reserves at home on Sunday 8 March, where they will hope to pick up their form in the run-in to the season’s end.
