Amakhosi descend on eThekwini

Kaizer Chiefs face Ajax Cape Town on Saturday, 15 October at the Moses Mabhida stadium in the first of three designated Absa Premiership ‘home’ fixtures to be staged in Durban this season.

Amakhosi are in buoyant mood following a run of three consecutive league wins prior to the international break, during which they added the Macufe Cup to the Naturena trophy cabinet with a handsome 4-1 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic last Sunday.

Coach Steve Komphela is confident his players can maintain the momentum that has catapulted them to the summit of the PSL table, and provide Chiefs’ chairman and founder, Chincha Guluva with even more reason to celebrate his 72nd birthday this weekend.

“The team is working hard in training and we are going to Durban high on confidence,” says Komphela. “We are well prepared for the challenge and shall give everything to give our supporters the result they deserve against Ajax.”

Kaizer Chiefs marketing director Jessica Motaung adds, “The team needs all of our supporters in KZN to come out in numbers and get fully behind them. We urge all our supporters to purchase their tickets early and fill up the Moses Mabhida on Saturday.”

Together with Vodacom, Kaizer Chiefs has lined up a number of activities in which players and management will engage with supporters to give them an experience they will cherish for a long time.

On Friday 14 October, Richards Bay’s Boardwalk Inkwazi shopping centre will be the venue for a road show between 12 and 5pm, where fans will have the opportunity to interact with some of the players, take pictures and get signed autographs. Plus, there will be fabulous prizes on offer, including tickets, data bundles from Vodacom and jerseys.

On Saturday, the activation team will set up at Durban’s Workshop shopping centre, to create excitement ahead of the epic clash. The activation will take place between 10am and 2pm.

The KC Retail store will be out in full force at these events with exciting and exclusive merchandise available for purchase, while KC Insurance agents will be on hand to assist with product information for supporters. KC Mobile will also be present to RICA supporters who purchase the KCM Starter pack to ensure they join the Kaizer Chiefs Family of millions that already receive exclusive club content.

Online shoppers are urged to visit www.kcdigistore.com and purchase their merchandise. On Saturday, one lucky Durban-based online shopper will have their merchandise delivered by a Kaizer Chiefs player right to their doorstep.

Long renowned for setting trends in South African football, Amakhosi have come with a new innovation known as the KCCouch. This is a special seat inside the stadium reserved for a lucky supporter and three of his/her friends to watch the match and enjoy special VIP treatment. They will get to enjoy dinner at the stadium, meet and greet Kaizer Chiefs officials and players. To stand a chance to win this once in a lifetime opportunity, fans are encouraged to SMS KCCouch to 33044. Each SMS is charged at R1,50, with KC Mobile subscribers having the added advantage of getting two entries per SMS.

On Saturday morning, the Amakhosi players will host coaching clinics as part of the club’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The match kicks off on 15 October 2016 at 6pm at the Moses Mabhida stadium. Tickets are available at Computicket outlets and Shoprite stores.
